Website voice AI

Website voice AI lets a visitor ask a question in their own words — by voice or text — and get a spoken answer, right on your page. With Stelt, that assistant is Willow, and she is trained on your business.

How voice works on a website

A small mic button sits in the corner of your pages. A visitor taps it and speaks; the assistant turns speech into text, works out the answer from what it knows, and replies out loud in a natural voice. Because it reasons over your content instead of following a fixed script, it handles the same question asked a hundred different ways.

Voice or typing

Speaking is faster and more natural for many people, but not everyone wants to talk on a web page. Stelt supports both in the same widget — a visitor can speak, or type, and switch between them mid-conversation. See voice AI compared with a traditional chatbot for the trade-offs.

How Stelt does it

Willow speaks in a natural voice (you pick the voice and accent), and she answers only from the content you give her — so the answers are specifically your business, not generic AI. When a question goes beyond what she should answer, she offers to take the visitor's details so your team can follow up.

A visitor journey

A visitor lands after hours, taps the mic, and asks "do you handle emergency call-outs?" Willow answers from your site, then offers to pass their details to the team. What would have been a bounce becomes a captured lead.

Adding it to your site

Stelt is one line of code before your closing body tag — no rebuild, works on any platform. See the integration guides, or the deeper primer on what voice AI is.

Frequently asked questions

Do visitors have to speak, or can they type?

Both. A visitor can tap the mic and talk, or type in the same box — Willow answers either way, so no one is forced to use their voice.

What does Willow answer from?

Only the material you train her on — your website, uploaded documents, and notes. She answers from your content rather than inventing information.

Does the microphone always work?

The mic needs a secure (HTTPS) page — that is a browser rule, not a Stelt limitation. On a normal live website served over HTTPS it works out of the box; typing always works regardless.
